Think about it: Where is the mind? Obviously if the mind had extension (a property whereby something occupies space) one could talk about where. But the real question is: “Does the mind exist in time and space?”

You may say that even though the mind has no extension in space it is extended in time. After all my mind was aware of yesterday, yesterday and of today, today….

And that’s the crux of the matter. The mind (whatever that is) is aware of the time (and space for that matter) but exists in the eternal now and the infinite here.

No matter (lots of semi-intended puns here) what you do, no matter how hard you try to escape reality you are always in the here and now. You are always the Buddha, Christ, or whatever….

The difference between the enlightened person (the aware person) and the sleeping norm is only that the aware person is aware that she’s aware. The mind boggles – and to a certain extent the mind can only boggle….

On some level (the level of Ultimate Reality according to mystics) you are it whether you like it or not (Tat tvam asi – that thou art)….

All else is illusion – maya (a game or play). Now even though we know that we are playing a game (say Monopoly, Chess, Football) we get into it. While we are playing the game it is so real. And in the same way even though the ego is an artifact of the game of life. We imagine it is real and it is in charge….

So where is the mind?

I don’t know!

But then how could I (I = the false ego) know since I do not exist.

Finally all I can write is:

What is the mind?

No matter.

What is matter?

Never mind.
