Beatles
I remember 1963 I went to an English boarding school and sudenly “love me do” came out. The group had this weird name of Beatles. The first Beatles record released in England went to 27 in top thirty. That was quite good for a new group and then “Please, please me came out.” Went to number one and I suppose the rest was history.
Around this time there was the fights between the Mods, with their Vespas, and the Rockers, with their motor bikes. And suddenly you had to take sides. No I was too young but you had to be either pro Beatles or the Stones. And then it time I went to university and sanity took over.
There was nothing wrong with liking both the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.
